Start button

A button, usually appearing in the lower-left corner of the Windows desktop, labelled "Start". Clicking this button displays the Start menu, a list of choices that include starting common programs, restarting or shutting down Windows, finding files or folders, displaying Windows' help file, and adjusting settings for printers, programs and more.
